Marketing and Communications Manager

The Rotarun Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing plans to drive season pass sales, secure sponsorships, and promote Rotarun Ski Area to the community and beyond. This individual will work closely with SVSEF and Rotarun leadership, staff, and external partners to achieve these objectives. Solicitation of sponsorships and raffle items required. This position will require between 10-20 hours per week in September & October and approximately 30-40 hours per week November through April.

The Rotarun Marketing and Communications Manager is required to be a well-rounded lead and point of contact for all the key aspects of the organization’s offerings. The ability to work both independently and as a team, being highly adaptive and effective in many different roles, will be key to the success of this position. An individual assigned to this position will be required to work evening and/or weekend hours on occasion, work outside, including in winter conditions. The ideal employee is expected to build and promote a healthy and supportive culture of professionalism, business development, and programming inclusion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must and experience with Google forms & sheets, Canva, Shopify, and Excel preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Season Pass Sales

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns to drive season pass sales.
  • Implement targeted promotional activities to increase passholder retention.
  • Provide all HOA members with a season pass annually.

Sponsorship Acquisitions and Follow-up

  • Identify potential sponsorship opportunities and cultivate relationships with prospective sponsors.
  • Develop sponsorship packages and proposals tailored to the needs and interests of potential partners.
  • Ensure timely follow-up and effective communication with sponsors to maximize engagement and satisfaction.
  • Coordination of digital, online, and on-hill sponsor recognition.

Ski Area Marketing

  • In coordination with SVSEF’s Leadership team, create and implement all marketing efforts related to Rotarun Ski Area, including advertising, social media, email marketing, and website management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to create compelling marketing collateral and campaigns.
  • Capture photos and videos for social media, annual reports, and marketing collateral.
  • Coordinate with City of Hailey to hang event banners.

Community Engagement

  • Serve as a liaison between Rotarun Ski Area and the local community, fostering positive relationships and soliciting feedback.
  • Organize community events, outreach programs, and promotional activities to increase awareness and participation.
  • Ensure the Rotarun website is accurate and relevant.
  • Develop a schedule, manage and update social media channels as needed.
  • Coordinate with Mountain Ops. Team to manage Rotarun merchandise program.

Events

  • Support Rotarun events, via collaboration with community partners and Rotarun staff.

Private Parties

  • Arkoosh Cup
  • Other events as required

General Responsibilities:

  • Manage company cell phone, answer and direct calls, respond to info. emails.
  • Manage point of sale system – Shopify
  • Be on-site at least one public ski session per week and for some Rota-Rippers sessions.
  • Be present, available, and engaged to ensure high-level guest and user-group experience.
  • Understand, communicate, and support a culture of risk management & inclusion.
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking and initiative.
  • Work to ensure all mountain rules, safety protocols, and philosophies are adhered to.
  • Present a professional image of Rotarun when interacting in the community on & off the clock.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Understand and adhere to all policies as outlined in the staff handbook.
